The Most Wonderful Time of the Year My Week in Sports - Week of November 6, 2017

It's the most wonderful time of the year ... high school football playoffs in Georgia! For the week of November 6th, I only had one sport on my schedule to shoot and that was Allatoona Football.

After their big win against Dalton on November 3rd, Allatoona, No. 2 in Region 6-AAAAAA, had home-field advantage and hosted Langston Hughes High School, No. 3 seed from Region 5-AAAAAA.

This was the first meeting between both schools.

The night was crisp and it was one of the first "cold" nights of the season but that didn't stop Allatoona HotShotz Dance Team, Allatoona Band and Allatoona NJROTC from their pre-game performance.

It's game time.

Senior RB Brandon Nash (44)

Junior TE Jaylan Williams (8)

Junior WR Dawson Coltran (19)

Honored during the game were GHSA 6A State Champion Runner-Ups Allatoona Fast Pitch Softball and 2017 GHSA 6A State Champion Cross Country Runner, Senior Adrian Hernandez.

Senior Kicker Skyler Davis (81)

Senior DL Robbie Brunelle (42) on the sack

Allatoona Offense

Senior Adrian Boyd (6) diving for the catch and adding 6 to the board

Junior RB Mario Gambaccini (25) making his way into the end-zone to add 6 more on the board

Allatoona Seniors Robbie Brunelle (42), Patrick Daniels (92) and Payton Eeles (5)

Final Score:

Langston Hughes 7

Allatoona 27

Assistant Team Pastor Casey Linch

Playoffs continue for Allatoona as they progress to the Sweet Sixteen and will travel to take on Region 8 Champion Dacula High School on November 17th.

Until then...

Senior Captains Parker Gibbs (55) and Patrick Daniels (92) shaking hands after the coin toss.

Every game is everything.
