Males leave the herd between the ages of 12 and 15.

Female elephants are called a cow.

The elephants eyes are small and they have poor eye sight.

The elephants foot is a spongy pad with four or five toes and toenails. The pad acts like a cushion on each step absorbing the impact and taking some strain off the leg.

Elephants have six sets of teeth when the last set of teeth is lost it's unable to eat much.

They have the largest brain in the animal kingdom.

The African elephant is the largest of all land mammals.
