We had an epic weekend with ya’ll at BLACK PANTHER!

But seriously, we’ve got to hand it to you. In partnership with Alamo Drafthouse theatres in Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, more than 1,500 Wakandans flooded the theaters for our Texas Theatre Takeover.

Austin turned into the country of Wakanda as its spirit was with us all - from our head down to our toes, the #alphits and attire were seriously incredible!

Wakanda Forever!

Thank you for coming out, partying late into the night with us and most importantly, making history!

Black Panther SMASHED box office records with a $427 million worldwide opening!

DJ Kay Cali #RockedWakanda and took our bodies and our booties to another dimension!
CCBFF Executive Director Winston WIlliams and Texas Preparatory School Director Daphne McDole, along with her students.

Capital City Black Film Festival worked feverishly to raise donations for Austin’s #blackpantherchallenge, a way for us to get 200 children to see Black Panther for free! With your help, we raised $5,000 to make it all happen. The students came, and loved it.

If you need more #PeekNoireExperiences in your life - be sure to join us on March 9th at The Carver Museum for the annual MVMT50 at SXSW Opening Reception.

Check out what we’ve got coming down the pipeline for SXSW Interactive this year; you won’t want to miss our comprehensive list of all things #blackatsxsw (think panels, speakers, meet and greets, parties and so much more).
