“Where are you God?” - Part #1 By: Margaret R. Wilder

Psalm 42:1-3 (TLB)

As the deer pants for water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. Where can I find him to come and stand before him? Day and night I weep for his help, and all the while my enemies taunt me. “Where is this God of yours?” they scoff.

Psalm 42:6-7 (TLB)

“...I am standing here depressed and gloomy, but I will meditate upon your kindness to this lovely land....All your waves and billows have gone over me, and floods of sorrow pour upon me ....”

Psalm 42:6-8 (TLB)

Yet day by day the Lord also pours out his steadfast love upon me, and through the night I sing his songs and pray to God who gives me life.

Psalm 42:9-10 (TLB)

“O God my Rock,” I cry, “why have you forsaken me? Why must I suffer these attacks from my enemies?” Their taunts pierce me like a fatal wound; again and again they scoff, “Where is that God of yours?”

Psalm 42:12 (TLB)

“But, O my soul, don’t be discouraged. Don’t be upset. Expect God to act! For I know that I shall again have plenty of reason to praise him for all that he will do. He is my help! He is my God!”

It’s okay to ask questions.

This is the only way to find truth—to find God.

Our prayers to God should be specific. Ask God for specific requests, then EXPECT answers.

—but there is no one answer for every problem.

I won’t mislead you...I won’t tell you the path to truth is an easy road.

There is no escalator.

No. Actually it is a fight.

1 Timothy 6:12 (TLB)

Fight the good fight of the faith [in the conflict with evil]; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called...

God promises to equip us to win each battle through faith, prayer, and the power of HIS Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 6:11 (AMP)

Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents]...

Ephesians 6:12 (AMP)

...but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness...

...against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.

Ephesians 6:13 (AMP)

“Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious].

But you may ask, “How can I fight when I feel like the picture below?”

“....like I’m completely in the dark and have totally lost my way?

I don’t FEEL strong and my armor doesn’t look so SHINY!!!!

I feel trapped with no way out!

I don’t FEEL equipped for this battle I’m in!!!

“I feel like I’m about to fall! I’m going through hell! JESUS, PLEASE HELP ME!”

“WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW?”

Psalm 121:1-2 (MEV)

I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:3-4 (MEV)

“He will not let your foot slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who guards Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”

Psalm 121:5 (MEV)

The Lord is your guardian; the Lord is your shade at your right hand.

Psalm 121:6 (MEV)

The sun shall not harm you during the day...
Nor the moon during the night.

Psalm 121:7-8 (MEV)

The Lord shall protect you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from now and for evermore.

Ephesians 6:14 (AMP)

So stand firm and hold your ground, having tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart),

Ephesians 6:15 (AMP)

...and having strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news].

Ephesians 6:16 (AMP)

Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Ephesians 6:17 (AMP)

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

Ephesians 6:18 (AMP)

And pray.
With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God’s people.”

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (AMP)

“For though we walk in the flesh [as mortal men], we are not carrying on our [spiritual] warfare according to the flesh and using the weapons of man.

The weapons of our warfare are not physical. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.

We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God.

And we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ.

The path to truth might feel like climbing this staircase.
...or like climbing this one. However the Bible verse below contains the secret to understanding the deep things of God.

Proverbs 2:3-5 (AMP)

Yes, if you cry out for insight, And lift up your voice for understanding; If you seek skillful and Godly wisdom as you would silver and search for her as you would hidden treasures; Then you will understand the [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] And discover the knowledge of God.

If you are in a spiritual battle, you’ve got to fight! BUT as stated above, our fight is won not by fighting physically, but when we pray.

There are so many things we don’t understand, but irregardless, we must hold close the things we do understand.

Zechariah 4:6 (KJV)

“This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”
