Remote Education at Lyonsdown School

"What you have done for the children is outstanding in such difficult circumstances"

Year 1 Parent

As we head into what I hope will be our final few weeks of Remote Education, I wanted to share with you a snapshot of some of the positive feedback we have received from parents over the last term.

Our aim has been to provide educational continuity and stability. To offer our full curriculum remotely - including all of our specialist lessons in Art, Computing, Languages, Music, PE and Science.

Thank you to all our families who have supported our pupils' learning during this time - and for all of your kind words of praise for our Remote Education. It has been wonderful to see the Lyonsdown School community stay connected and our children happy and learning during these challenging times. We look forward to welcoming them all back into School to continue their learning journey.

Mrs Stanton-Tonner, Head.

"You have been so supportive and somehow managed to teach these girls through a screen in such trying circumstances. I have watched my daughter grow immeasurably and wish to extend my thanks to all who have patiently, and creatively, managed to give the girls some semblance of normality."

Supporting our Year 6 Pupils sitting their exams during lockdown.

'The online learning has been so extensive and a testament to the teachers as it can’t be easy. Although not ideal for us working parents it is very comforting to see the kids covering so much material remotely."

Year 2 Parent

We may have missed our Science Lab, but pupils have enjoyed virtual lessons with our Science teacher

"My daughter logs in, just as I have to leave to go to work (her daddy is upstairs) and by the time I get home, just in time for log off, she is full of energy and stories of what she’s been up to! So thank you. She’s certainly very keen and motivated."

Year 3 Parent

Artistic talents have been flourishing during Remote Education

"Thank you so much for the positive experience... I can clearly see the progress that my daughter has made."

Year 5 Parent

Pupils have been keeping active too!

"I came downstairs today to my daughter doing some arts and crafts after school - she had made this (opposite). I just wanted to share with you all and once again thank you for the amazing job you are all doing with the home schooling."
