Principal's Message

Welcome to Term 2

We hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break.

Term 2 is already shaping up to be a busy one with NAPLAN, sport and lots more!

PBL Activities

Our PBL Activities started this week. Students had a great time at their respective activities and the rain held off for those who headed out of the school grounds. Congratulations to all students who were able to follow our school expectations of being safe, fair and a learner to participate in these activities.

Staffing

Mrs Vanessa Nelson has taken up a position at Southern Cross School Of Distance Education for the rest of this year.

Mrs Shannon Jones will be taking over the Year 1 class and we extend a warm welcome to Mrs Jones.

Mrs Nelson has done so much for our school, students, staff and community and we will miss her. We wish her all the best in her new role – and maybe we will see her back here next year.

ANZAC Day March

It was wonderful to see so many students come along to the ANZAC Day March in the holidays. Being part of the march down River Street is a very moving experience and I encourage more students to attend next year. It’s something you’ll be proud of.

Volunteer Raffle Winner

This week’s raffle winner for ‘coffee and cake’ is Kate Turner - congratulations and thank you! Don’t forget to fill in your tickets when you come and volunteer.

Thanks to The Point Ballina for donating the vouchers for our volunteer winners to enjoy coffee and cake at The Point, overlooking the river.

School Attendance

Attendance at school is essential for student success at school – both academically and socially.

Have a wonderful week of learning!

Years 3 and 5 at Ballina Public School will be sitting NAPLAN Assessments online in 2019. The Tests will be conducted in a number of sessions from Tuesday 14th May until Monday 20th May.

REMEMBER: DON'T PANIC!!. NAPLAN is not about passing or failing, but about assessing learning progress.

If you would like to trial the types of online test questions, and understand the interactive test format you can visit the NAPLAN Public Demonstration WebSite. Just click on:
