At Jordan Elementary School we value standards-based instruction and creating a safe and fun learning and working environment. JES focuses on the academic and social-emotional development of students by incorporating a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) model where safety, respect and responsibility are integrated into all areas of the school.
The goal of Jordan Middle School is to serve as a transition from the elementary to the high school. Middle school education provides a solid standards-based interdisciplinary core with diverse exploratory and elective options with the goal of preparing students for Jordan High School and beyond.
The middle school has a full staff of specialists to assist the needs of our students. Each day, an advisor-advisee program is used to build relationships in a small group environment while participating in positive behavior activities.
JMS offers honors courses, exploratory classes for grades 5-8, and electives for grades 7-8 (Ceramics, Robotics, Spanish, Woods, Forensics, Fitness and Recreation, and more).
Students may also elect to participate in a variety of clubs and co-curricular activities as well as after-school academic support.
JHS offers a comprehensive secondary program including college preparation (Honors, AP, Articulation Agreements, Concurrent Enrollment, and College in the Schools).
Students can also attend vocational classes through SWMetro Educational Cooperative where they can earn credit at vocational schools and North Hennepin Community College.
We have a successful 1:1 Chromebook technology program and a new Summit Academy for grades 11 and 12 where students have the opportunity to take cross-curricular and real-world professional studies courses.
Summit Academy classes include Introduction to Education; Multicultural Ed and Human Relations in Schools; Business, Marketing, and Economics; and Healthcare and Medicine.
