Project 1: equilbRIUM

The first project was used to study equilibrium. We had to suspend a one pound wooden cube using only string and dowels. Three dowels were used at angles with string from the largest dowel to the cube.

project 2: bridge

The second project involved building a bridge with only wooden dowels. We decided to build a truss bridge with reinforced vertical pieces. The bridge was then tested by hanging vertical weights; it held 36 pounds before collapsing in the middle.

Project 3: Truss

The third project entailed creatively designing three different categories of trusses, one perfectly symmetrical, one asymmetrical, one with variable pitch, and one curved.
