NWSRA Village

Welcome to NWSRA Village! NWSRA recognizes the need for ongoing communication and sharing of resources to assist NWSRA participants and their family members and friends. The purpose of NWSRA Village is to provide an online platform for NWSRA and its participants and family members to communicate, share and keep updated with new resources that may be of assistance.

NWSRA has heard your voice! Through the Strategic Planning process, several parents expressed their desire to have greater access to communication with other NWSRA parents in order to provide increased access to important resources and information. NWSRA staff set out on a goal to increase access for parents, friends and family members through an easy to use, cost effective, mobile friendly site. Through the Facebook Group platform, these primary capabilities are met, along with a multitude of others that make it easy for NWSRA families to connect. Criteria for Membership:

  1. NWSRA Village members must be connected to NWSRA as a family member or participant.
  2. Content will be reviewed and approved by NWSRA staff prior to posting.
  3. Services and/or resources offered in the northwest suburbs are relevant to individuals with disabilities through recreation, therapy or other related services.
  4. Solicitations on behalf of corporations, businesses, referral agencies, advertisers, individuals or other for-profit entities are not allowed.
  5. NWSRA strictly prohibits posts or shared resources that promote political views, hatred, prejudice, bigotry, profanity, violence, smoking, drugs, alcohol, unacceptable adult content or anything related.
  6. Individuals must contact NWSRA directly for any customer service/program related issues at 847-392-2848 or through the online Customer Service portal at http://www.nwsra.org/ns/contact/customerservice.asp
  7. NWSRA reserves the right to reject or disable membership for any reason and at any time without prior notice.

Intended Audience: NWSRA participants and family members interested in:

  1. Sharing of resources/suggestions on a wide variety of topics including transportation, community support groups, volunteer opportunities, programming ideas, etc.
  2. Sharing of informational videos/resources about NWSRA and its programs
  3. Promotion of advocacy efforts for individuals with disabilities
  4. Communication of carpooling opportunities among parents/participants to/from events. *NWSRA does not arrange and is not responsible for carpooling in any way. Any carpooling plans/opportunities must be communicated directly between NWSRA Village members.

NWSRA Village is not intended to resolve program related or customer service related issues. If you feel that we are not providing satisfactory service at any time, please contact us so that we can find a resolution together and improve future communication. Meeting the unique needs of our participants and their families is the top priority at NWSRA. Staff receive ongoing training on best practices in customer service throughout the year and are dedicated to providing the best recreational experience possible.
