Sharing Love 5K Family Walk Oct-22-2016 Saturday 2016 Sharing Love Campaign

The 5K Sharing Love Family Walk is an annual community building and fundraising event for The Sharing Love Campaign presented by The Korea Times in partnership with Korean Community Service Center of Greater Washington (KCSC).

Over $90,000 has been raised in the first year of the Sharing Love Campaign.

100% of your donation funds KCSC’s Safety Net Project and directly impacts the lives of community members who have experienced emergency circumstances or crises that have caused them unanticipated financial strains.

Your participation makes a positive difference in our community!

In 2015, about 120 volunteers and participants enjoyed a beautiful autumn walk through scenic Carderock Park. KCSC provided an art session for kids and, after the walk, all the participants enjoyed snacks and hot dogs, generously donated by Global Foods and Open Door Presbyterian Church!

"We had a lot of fun! A wonderfully diverse crowd and everyone was happy and having fun. Definitely doing the walk again but this time, I'll be bringing more friends and family!"

Provides emergency financial assistance and case management to individuals and families who have experienced a life crisis such as sudden job loss, an accident, or a domestic violence incident. Support helps to prevent eviction, utilities shut-off, or food insecurity.

KCSC is a responsible steward of community donations, screening potential beneficiaries in need and providing on-going case management to help clients get back on their feet.

"Thank you for giving us a chance to get emergency financial assistance when we had no way to get help from anyone else."

Through the incredible support of our community, during the first year of the Sharing Love Campaign, KCSC successfully raised more than $90,000 for the emergency fund.
