Leading with the mindset of leaving is how we raise leaders. We reach out to the next generation of leaders not for them to rely on our guidance for the rest of their lives but for them to learn to grow in their relationship with God, live life to their fullest potential and be able to train others to do the same.
Ella Sta. Cruz is one of our student leaders from the University of the Philippines Baguio (UPB). On May 2014, she attended a Youth Service at Victory Alabang church and got invited to be part of a group of young women students who meet together regularly to study the bible and encourage one another to live a life of Leadership, Integrity, Faith and Excellence. This group is also known as Victory Group.
I got connected with her through Elise Huang, one of the current youth leaders at Every Nation Campus Alabang. She was one of the kids we used to teach at Victory Baguio Kids Church who later on became the Victory Group Leader (VGL) of Angelica Rillona, Ella's VGL in Alabang. All of them were high school students then and as young as they are they were able to grasp the heart of reaching out to other young people and training them as leaders who would be willing to pass the baton to the next generation.
Ella moved to Baguio City last August 2015 when she entered college at UPB and that’s also the time that she became part of the Victory Group I am leading. Ella is now leading her own Victory Group and encouraging other students here in Baguio City to grow in their relationship with God and live life to their fullest potential.
