About ninety-nine percent of the populations in Afghanistan are Muslims. There are two main large groups of Muslims. One is the Sunni Muslims which make up about eighty-four percent of Muslims and the other sect are the Shi'a Muslims which make up about fifteen percent of Muslims. There some smaller sects like that only make up about two or three percent of Muslim religion. These different types of sects or people are all due to religion.
