Rocket Review Week of May 18, 2018

Thank you to the Morgan Volunteers PTO for organizing today's BMX assembly! It was a beautiful day to be outside and students really enjoyed the show! Especially when they jumped over MRs. Lasky!

Good Luck to our Morgan Science Olympiad team as they head to competition on Saturday!

Good Luck to our Girls on the Run team as they run their 5K on Sunday to complete their season!

One of our Morgan students is hosting a coin drive to benefit children at Beaumont Hospital.

She approached me a few weeks ago, asking if she could gather donations. She wrote a proposal stating: "We should donate money for Beaumont Children's Hospital for all the children who really need medicine and to help them so they can get better and go home to their families"

Donations will go to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at Beaumont Children's. Your donations will help purchase:

  • $25 a plush Beau the Bear, a gift that is given to each child for comfort
  • $25 provides a student heart check, diagnosing potential problems, especially in athletes
  • $100 provides therapy services for children with autism and their families
  • $250 purchases a special red wagon used to transport children throughout the hospital as needed
  • $250 purchases a pediatric cancer infusion chair for a child's comfor during treatment
  • $500 purchases a customized therapy bike for a child with special needs

There will be a collection box outside the main office to deposit coins, or you can send in donations in a sealed envelope marked Beaumont Donation. We will collect until Friday, June 1.

I would like to thank our Morgan student, Katherine K. in fourth grade, for organizing this charitable event and giving back to others in the community!

MORGAN'S FIELD DAY WILL BE FRIDAY, JUNE 1, 2018. If you would like to volunteer to help, please complete the form that was sent home on yellow paper, or print the one below. Return the completed form to Morgan so we can get a count of volunteers. Thank you!!

It has been another busy week at Morgan, ending with a great assembly provided by our Morgan Volunteers PTO! Students really enjoyed watching the bikes soar over other students and their Principal! Thanks to your help with fundraising efforts, this was a free assembly provided because of our participation in Entertainment Book and cookie dough sales.

The year continues to fly by, with only four weeks left of school! Still so much to do, so help us keep our students focused on learning by encouraging them to continue to work their best in school and get a good night's sleep at home. Our spring schedules are packed with activities so some down time with family before heading to bed is a great way to unwind from a busy day and catch up with everyone. Listen to your kid's stories as they have so many wonderful things to share!

Enjoy the weekend with your kids!

Have a great week! ~Mrs. Lasky
