The Work of Redemption Through the Church Evangelist Joanna Pae - Shiloh Sunday Service - 16th october 2016

Ephesians 3:8-10

8 To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, 9 and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things; 10 so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.

Jesus declared that all of the scriptures testify of Him (John 5:39-40). Thus, beginning with the book of Genesis through the book of Revelations testifies of Jesus Christ; even though there is no mention of the name Jesus in the Old Testament.

Time Line begins in the Garden

God, who created the entire universe, wants to be with us and this is what the entire history of bible declares. God created the very first man Adam and placed him in the Garden of Eden (Gen 2:15). Adam was given two commands from God and they were; cultivate (abad) and keep (shamar) the Garden of Eden. Thus the Garden of Eden is where a man shall keep (shamar) and cultivate (abad), thus keep and protect and bear fruit. Secondly, the Garden of Eden is where the Lord God “walks” meaning that God is always there walking in the Garden of Eden (Gen 3:5). God continued to walk in the Garden of Eden because He wanted to be with His beloved man Adam. Unfortunately, because of Adam’s sin and fall, the Garden of Eden was shut off. However, although we are sinful people we are reinstated through the blood of Jesus Christ to our original state (2 Cor 5:17). Thus if we are true believers in Jesus Christ we will always live with a vision toward the Garden of Eden. Even after Adam’s fall; God continued to carry out the work of redemption because He wants to be with us however; because of our sin and darkness He cannot. Therefore, God removed the problem of sin so that He can be with us; through sacrifice. Abel gave sacrifice offerings to God; likewise Noah and Abraham built an altar of sacrifice to the Lord. The Garden of Eden existed when Adam was created in 4114 BC.

Plans to God’s House in the Wilderness

The house of God in the wilderness is the “tabernacle” a moving temple. Actually there are two phases of the house of God depending on where a person is in their spiritual life. If they are in the wilderness, then it is the “tabernacle” however, for those who are in spiritual Canaan it’s called the “temple” or fixed temple. In 1445 BC, the tabernacle was erected during the wilderness journey to dwell with His people. About 500 years later in 950 BC the Lord’s house “Solomon’s Temple” for the purpose of God dwelling with men. Thus we can see that God is trying to be with men just like He was in the Garden of Eden (Num 3:7-8). Thus throughout history 1445 years before Christ came, and 950 years before Christ came our Father God has been proclaiming to the entire world that He is going to be with us. Through the temple God gave put three things in the temple to confirm His promise of being with us. First, God put His name in temple (1 Kgs 9:3). Secondly, God put His eyes in the temple (1 Kgs 8:29). Thirdly, God says His heart is there in temple continuously (1 Kgs 9:3). Thus if we keep all the Word of Redemptive History and the work of Jesus Christ in our hearts God promised us that He will give us His name, eyes and His heart forever continuously and listen to our prayers whenever we come to church and pray (1 Kgs 9:3; John 15:7). This is how God has been foreshadowing through the history of redemption what Jesus Christ will do once He comes. Thus this Old Testament time reaches its climax and Jesus Christ comes.

Jesus Christ 4 BC

Jesus Christ came as the Messiah in 4 BC in the history of mankind. Jesus Christ comes as the true temple and not a building (John 2:19-21). Jesus Christ is also the true sacrifice who takes away all of our sins (Matt 20:28). Because Jesus Christ became the true temple and sacrifice and also the high priest to finish all the work of the tabernacle and the temple a new era began. Thus; after His coming and fulfillment of the true temple, sacrifice and as the high priest Jesus becomes the head of His church (Eph 1:22-23). He purchased the whole church with His blood and this is called the “Universal Church.”

Early Church Days

The early church era is known to be between 30 AD thru 325 AD. 325 AD is the date of the first Council of Nicaea. Through the early church days the gospel spread around the Mediterranean region and primarily to the Northern Hemisphere which is all the European countries and Asia Minor. Until the gospel of Jesus Christ, everything in the Old Testament was kept only to the Jewish people but since the coming of Jesus Christ there was a full expansion of the gospel and the real universal church began and the Northern Hemisphere of the globe was conquered by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Thus, global revival took place in the Northern Hemisphere however the last great revival will take place under the equator in the Southern Hemisphere. This PK church 2016 is proclaiming the work of Jesus Christ of all the work our Father has done from the Garden of Eden. We are the church that will perfect everything and this wisdom that we have received will be made known through the church to all the rulers in heavenly places in the end times (Eph 3:8-10). Thus we are not a part from the six thousand years of God’s work of Redemption. All the saints before us have worked very hard and were recognized by God but they did not receive the promise because without us the work of redemptive history cannot be made perfect.

New Jerusalem

From Egypt all the way to the wilderness, to Canaan, and the coming of Jesus Christ, the spreading of the gospel during the early church, we are now heading towards the New Jerusalem. In the Garden of Eden there was the tree of life. As God equip us with faith and the Word of God we must be able to claim this tree of life because we have already met Jesus Christ; the Tree of Life. The tree of life is wisdom (Prov 3:18). Secondly, the tree of life is fruit of righteousness (Prov 11:30). Thirdly, the tree of life is a soothing healing tongue (Prov 15:4). Finally, in the New Testament, the tree of life is found by the river of life (Rev 22:2). Finally, the way to the tree of life is the washing of robes with the blood of Jesus Christ (Rev 22:14).

Conclusion

As our Father God shows us the entire history from Genesis to Revelation to show us where we are in our Father God’s history of redemption may we truly believe that He has hand –picked you and I and we are called out from the world to proclaim and fulfill the entire redemptive history. It is through His church His wisdom will be revealed to rulers and authorities in heavenly places. This is how special we are in fulfilling the history of redemption.
