Cause-the body to not make a protein, destroying brain cells

Statistics- about 16 cases a year

Symptoms- Symptoms of slowed development usually appear around six months of age. Symptoms progress until they lead to death, often around age four.

Detected- Blood test

Detected after birth around 3-6 months and eventually die around age 4 or 5

Treatment- No cure

Cure- No

Effects- Most people with the disease only live to be four or five years old because of the fat buildup in their brain, (By time the symptoms just get worse).
