Celebrating from Afar

My dear family and friends,

I stand...REJOICING and PRAISING with a grateful heart. THANK YOU for your continued and overwhelming love, prayers, support, and encouragement!

"Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice!! Phil 4:4

Let us REJOICE as we celebrate this very special season and time...

"For unto us a child was born"

Thank you so much loyal and faithful prayer warriors! The battle is REAL and it is TRUE...

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Eph 6:12

I have truly experienced a very difficult and challenging time of spiritual warfare. Often spiritual warfare comes in the realm in which you least expect it! We all (me, the students (girls & boys) and The Lanford's) have experienced warfare recently in some realm either spiritual, relational, mental, physical or emotional. My attacks started shortly after my arrival, but was not fully exposed until early October. Due to your faithful prayers as of the end of November things are better...THANK YOU!! My continued prayer request please is Psalm Chapter 91 (God's hedge of protection) as we all press in in this dark place to run the race God has called us to..."For such a time as this." I can endure my race because Christ has endured the Cross. Our God is faithful! In and through it all I am continuing to see and experience God do CRAZY and AMAZING things. His word is true and He is who He says He is...

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deut. 31:6

Amen..."I BELIEVE"

Homeschool is AMAZING!!! One of the sweetest blessing's I receive each day is time spent with the boys!!...they make me so proud!! They are already "A" students...I mean that literally! Spelling was a new subject for them when I began teaching. We started spelling together as a new subject and curriculum. They are now learning how to spell 50 new words a week. And almost always they ace their weekly test. They are diligent to complete their homework assignments and strive to follow instructions as they are asked. Do we have CRAZY days...YES! But we start our day everyday in quality prayer time together. And our crazy days are good days too. I am seeing God do what ONLY He could do by equipping me daily with a skill to do what I have never done before my arrival here...'Teach".

We LOVE our schoolroom! Another AMAZING God orchestrated blessing. My house is PERFECT in every way...ONLY God!! I had no idea what my house looked like until I arrived. Three bedrooms and a room for a schoolroom. He provides our every need and then some.

They are excited to be currently learning how to spell and the map locations of the 50 States of the USA.

ONLY 6 days to Christmas!

"May He equip you with all you need for doing His will. May He produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to Him. All glory to Him forever and ever!" Amen.

Our school memory quote is: "Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless" ~Mother Teresa

Our school memory scriptures are: Proverbs 18:21, Proverbs 12:18 and James 1:4

Language school is coming along...still slowly, but all is well!! I am now toward the end of Unit 2...God is good!!!! Hahaha I finally graduated from Unit 1. Language is another sweet daily blessing to me. The friendships that I have made and are still making are so very special to me. Each day I continue to make language class a time of Worship and Praise.

My girls and I are doing very well! They too are a sweet blessing to me! It is hard to believe we are 3 months in to their 8 months. We have been living life together and transitioning with heart's of intentional joy...we have embraced our struggle's together. They too believe in the power of prayer!! Crystal and Libby both are helping with the ABM basketball teams/leagues. Crystal is on the girl's ABM basketball team. Basketball is her passion. Not so much Libby's passion! Libby enjoys nurturing and loves children! Helping with the Lanford children is her fulfillment. We ask for your continued prayers please as we serve the Lord according to His perfect plan, will and desire.

Crystal #15 and her ABM basketball team

Swoosh..."GO" Crystal!

Making Memories

Sharing LOVE and LAUGHTER to one another in fun times. Thank you for your continued prayers as we seek to serve the Lord according to His perfect will, plan and desire.

"But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24:15

Welcome to the rainy season... ha! ha!

The Culture

Taking wedding photos right outside my house...anything goes!

Supermarket display of fresh fish (Ikan) here.

Fresh ground Coconut

Traditional market... a true cultural experience

Salty Fish (called Ikan Torani) is a favorite food eaten everyday by the locals here.

Ladies Dresses at the local traditional market.

Sharing in much love, joy and laughter with new friends...

May I ask you to please pray with me for these three souls... Nana, Jum and Fiah. They too are precious in His sight. May they come to know our Lord and Savior as their own.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will forgive their sin anD will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

My kitchen is FULL and so is my HEART...these are precious people...from left to right Jum, Nana, Alyssa, Fiah, Kristen and Oji. We were cooking up a Mexican spread... beef tacos, grilled chicken quesadillas, and Mexican rice with all the trimmings... Mexican is one of their most favorite western foods.

ALL the girls... from language school. I often humor them as I speak bahasa Indonesian with my southern accent... it is truly quiet comical.

Communion... we eat God's word with ink and all on our bread. Also, each bread has a different scripture on them and when I read my scripture I wept.

But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. luke 6:27-28

God knew what I was experiencing at that time and little did I know what I was getting ready to soon experience. He was preparing my heart and mind.

We serve an all knowing, all sufficient mighty God!!!

I stand today because of you... Thank you Lord!!

Blessings to ALL and to ALL a very Merry Christmas!!

Much love,
