Marriage is a Good Thing By: courtney brown

1. Marriage increases health benefits.

Additional studies are finding that married couples experience lower levels of heart disease, cancers, flu, Alzheimer’s, depression and stress, Karen Sherman, author of “Marriage Magic! Find It, Keep It, & Make It Last,” told the Deseret News. Marriage can help you live longer than those who are single because you are healthier if you're married. This can also help you save money by not having to pay for expensive medical bills later in life.

2. Marriage can increase BMD.

Researchers found that marriage had positive outcomes on BMD (bone mineral density), especially for married men, who exhibited better bone mineral density than men who were widowed, separated, divorced or never married. This is a good thing so that later in life you have a smaller chance of having osteoporosis and the like.

3. Married men are wealthier men.

Married men are wealthier men. Married men earn between 10%-40% more than single men. This is a good thing because if you're married you are financially stable. This will relieve stress because you won't have to worry about money problems.

4. Married people tend to be generally happier than non-married people.

Married men are happier than their single friends. In the Journal of Marriage and Family, studies showed that 40% of married people said they were generally happy with their life, while only 25% of single people said they were. Most people in life are on the "pursuit of happiness." Being married could achieve this goal in life.

5. Marriage basically means always having your best friend around.

Usually when two people get married, they're each other's best friends. So when best friends do get married, they get to spend all of their time with each other. This is pretty cool because if you're truly best friends you will be able to spend tons of time together. But, best friends fight and even if y'all are in a fight, you still get time away from each other at work or other places.
