Nursing School Almanac: TAMIU Nursing Program is Ranked Among Texas' Best Nursing Programs

TAMIU was listed as No. 20 among 48 ranked programs. TAMIU’s high performance on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses figured prominently in the ranking. TAMIU outranked some impressive competitors, including the University of Texas at El Paso (25), UT-Health Science Center-San Antonio (27), and UT-Rio Grande Valley (35). TAMIU was also the highest-ranked campus among The Texas A&M University System’s southern regional campuses.
Dr. Marivic Torregosa

“We’re honored by this selection, especially as it draws upon several years of nursing data from 2011 to 2020 to calculate the NCLEX pass rate among first-time test takers…long considered a true barometer of program success. Our faculty’s commitment and student dedication to the program are the critical factors that combine to make these sorts of accolades possible.”

- Dr. Marivic Torregosa, College of Nursing and Health Sciences dean
