FIRST CONCERT SUCCESS!
We are so proud of how the students performed in their first concert! Thank you to everyone who sent pictures!
The Next Concert is Friday, November 30!
Week 10
Wind players (everyone except percussion), your playing assignment this week is line 28 Au Claire De La Lune. Instructions are in your Google Classroom.
Brass and woodwind instruments should be practicing:
- Rhythm Rockers and Rhythm Crush in the binder
- Pages behind Instrument Instruction tab in the binder (each class are on slightly different pages, or additional pages, they should practice what they did in class!)
- Essential Elements book pages 8 and 9
- New Concert Music!
- Note Names!
If your child needs after school help, please sign up for a time using the button below. Please only sign up for ONE time slot initially. We want to make sure that everyone has an opportunity and there are almost 100 band students this year! This is not a replacement for private lessons!
The student needs to sign in using their school Google account! Please have your student sign in—not the parent!
If the parent signs in, I don't know which student is staying after school! I only see the parent email address, which is not very helpful.
Band Halloween Party Fun!
Lovejoy High School Marching Band
The Lovejoy Marching Band had an exciting end to their 2018 contest season with a unanimous first division rating at the UIL Region 25 Marching Band Competition. The Lovejoy Band then traveled to the STAR in Frisco to compete in the US Bands Southwestern Regional Championships. In Prelims, the band won their class and took home all caption awards in Music, Marching, Percussion, Guard, and General Effect.
The band performed again in Finals and placed 2nd overall in Music and 3rd overall for the entire contest. The Color Guard was ranked first in prelims and won outstanding Color Guard in their class. In Finals, the Guard earned 2nd place overall.
We invite you to arrive early to Homecoming tomorrow night to see the Marching Band's entire contest show. This special Pre-Game performance begins at 6:30 pm.
Students, make sure you are taking your instruments home everyday! We have a big concert coming up and a lot of new material to learn! Practice, practice, practice!
I see too many sad instruments left in their locker over the long weekend!
Don't let this be your instrument! Take it home and practice!
