National Blue Ribbon School 2020 - Harris Elementary School

Rally for Riley

March 1-5, Harris will be celebrating National Kindness Week by focusing on the topic of Paying it Forward. We will have a common read aloud, talk about all the ways we can show kindness and pay kindness forward, and we will have some fun dress up days to raise money for Riley Children's Hospital. Please plan to participate in the fun days. Each day of fun is a recommended $1 donation of $5 for the week. Because we are raising money for a great charity, please feel free to donate more. All donations are accepted. If you right a check, please make it out to the Harris PTO. In April, be on the look out for more ways you and your child can participate in Paying it Forward in our community.

Inclement Weather Virtual Learning Schedule

In the event of inclement weather this year, we will continue to use the virtual learning model so that new instruction can be delivered and the year not be extended to make up for the missed day(s). Unlike with past weather days, we will be utilizing more “live” instruction which will mirror a typical school day. During an inclement weather day, your students day will begin at 8:30 am and all instruction will conclude by 2:00pm. Your teacher will contact you with more specific information when the need arises.

COVID19

Thank you for continuing to be diligent in your efforts to keep your family and other Harris students healthy and safe. Please self screen at home and be sure that you don't send a sick child to school this year. In addition, if any member of your household has a pending COVID-19 test, you should not send your child to school until the results of that test return negative. Thanks for helping us slow the spread at this difficult time of year.
