Every day, Anna and I cycled about 3km to school - our commute was a long way from the crowded trains of Kolkata!

The school day ran from 11am to 3pm every day

The happy faces that greeted us every morning
The one teacher for over 700 students
The school yard (during monsoon!)

Outside of school, we spent our afternoons playing with and teaching the 30 boys who lived with us in the complex. Taken out of child labor backgrounds, they are given accommodation, food, and an education.

And of course, spent time with the people in the local village

Egg rolls - delicious!

As a Suas volunteer, you will make a real, tangible difference to the lives of the children you work with. Not only will you change their lives, but they will change yours.

Abhijit would love to meet you!
