Chocolate Cake Lily Sickman-Garner

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups sugar
  2. 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  3. 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  4. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  5. 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  6. 1 tsp salt
  7. 2 eggs
  8. 1 cup milk
  9. 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  10. 2 tsp vanilla extract
  11. 1 cup boiling water

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour two 9 inch round pans.

2. Mix sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Beat in eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla.

4. Mix in boiling water using a spatula.

5. Pour half of the batter into each pan.

6. Bake for 35 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes in pans, then remove and allow to cool completely on rack.

7. Frost and decorate. Enjoy!
