Isham Update March 2019

Welcome Back

We hope you all enjoyed a pleasant half term break and that the children managed to enjoy some of the nicer weather. We only have 6 weeks until we break up for Easter, but there are lots of things planned so check out the dates on the calendar and keep an eye out for any emails or letters we might send out.

World Book Day

We are pleased to say we will be celebrating World Book Day again this year by inviting all the children (and staff) to dress up as a character from their favourite story. Please note we will be celebrating on the slightly later date of Thursday 14th March, due to some children in KS2 attending a Faith Roadshow on the 7th. If you are in need of some inspiration, check out some of the photos from last year.

Values Families Update

Beech became our first family to win the 'Values' Trophy for a second time. They have chosen a movie afternoon (with snacks!) as their reward and will receive this later on in the term.

Before the half term break, the children had a lovely morning painting rocks and hearts for a Valentine’s Day inspired morning focussing on the values of 'Love' and 'Compassion'. These are currently on display in the hall, so do feel free to pop in and take a look.

Isham Defibrillator

Some of you are probably already aware that Isham Village are trying to raise enough money to buy a Defibrillator for the village, which school would also have access to should it be needed. This is, obviously, a worthy and important cause that we would like to support and, for that reason, have decided to hold a Mufti Day (wear your own clothes) on Friday 15th March to raise money. We know this falls on Red Nose Day, and this is something we have always supported in the past, but we feel we would like to support a cause closer to home - Red Noses are obviously still welcome, but all money raised will go to the defibrillator fund. We are asking that the children bring in a donation (ideally £2+) for wearing their own clothes, as we are aiming to raise at least £200 - more would be even better!! We thank you in advance for your support of this local initiative.

Holiday Reminder

Just a reminder that Isham Primary School does not authorise term time absence, other than in exceptional circumstances. All planned absence should be discussed with Mrs Howarth in the first instance. We would like to remind you that a Penalty Notices will be issued with immediate effect if your child misses ten school sessions (a full day equates to TWO school sessions) in any 6 week period. Please refer to the February newsletter form more details.
