"...having done all, STAND!" Communiqué :: AUGUST 2021

"It’s a great time to go and be part of the Church of Jesus Christ."

Hi everyone,

This Pandemic is not the end of the world, but the end of an era. We must avoid the mentality that says, “Let’s hang in there so we can soon resume everything the way it was.” The economy, professional sports, health care, jobs, schools, travels, childcare, shopping, restaurants, entertainment centres, elections, funerals, etc. have all been impacted dramatically.

At the same time God is working powerfully and bringing defining changes to the Church to purify, develop endurance and lay out lessons so we are better prepared for the “last days perilous times.” (2 Timothy 3:1)

We need to reflect, realign, re-calibrate & reset and not miss this unexpected, unbelievable teachable moment. I see three areas for adjustments coming along our way.

  1. DECONSTRUCTION: We need to deconstruct our prevailing gospel presentation to highlight repentance, the Lordship and The Kingdom of God, as emphasized in the Word. There is simply no biblical basis for a “Jesus as Saviour only” message. The content of our message determines the quality of our converts.
  2. DISTRIBUTION: God’s blueprint in Eph. 4:11-16 tells us the Church is not a building but a body; Christianity is not an auditorium-centered, spectator-sport with leaders given only for educating (or entertaining) but “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry;” Spiritual Gifts are essential but not optional so “every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.” Ministry must be distributed throughout the body of believers. Christians must discover and develop their Spiritual Gifts and be deployed and distributed outside buildings into lives. The Pandemic will accelerate God’s original purpose by thrusting us out of buildings that are closed.
  3. DECENTRALIZATION: The church must be decentralized to express the New Testament model that Christianity is not merely a meeting to attend but a life to be shared. The church is not built primarily on services but relationships (Acts 2:42-47). God is first and foremost concerned with the quality of our work not the quantity, for it will all be tested by fire in the final judgment to either “receive a reward” or see it be “burned” (1 Cor. 3:10-15)

It’s a great time to go and be part of the Church of Jesus Christ. Come, whatever, His Church will not fail because He is committed to build His Church. Matt. 16:18 “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Your Pastors,

Pastor Ong Sek Leang & Pastor Nancy Ong

It’s Time to...Push Back and Press Through!

“…..When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. ( NKJV Isaiah 59:19)

“The Lord will come quickly like a fast-flowing river, driven by the breath of the Lord. (NCV, Isaiah 59:19)

Its time to stop playing the defensive role and just accept and adapt to what the Pandemic is pouring unto our laps. It’s time to, Push Back and Press Through with passionate, aggressive, bold and anointed prayer and intercession.

Join us every Wednesday night (Online) at 8:00pm as we pray for ourselves, our church and the nation.

I really want to praise and thank our Lord Jesus Christ for restoring me to health after my haemorrhoid laser surgery done on 31/12/2020. For many, this could be a simple surgery but mine was complicated as it was long overdue. The surgeon informed me after the surgery that he had a massive job removing both internal and external haemorrhoids which he thought looked cancerous. I praise and thank God the biopsy showed benign, not cancerous.

However, more than two weeks after the surgery i.e. on 17/1/21, I was bleeding profusely so much that I fainted. I informed my husband, Lum, of my heavy bleeding and I told him that I was about to faint so he managed to catch me. As I laid on the floor during that time I was semi conscious, I asked Lum to pray along with me to rebuke the spirit of death. Miraculously the bleeding stopped while I was on the floor. I praise and thank God that He stopped my bleeding as I waited for the ambulance to arrive. All through that time, my mind was clear and I was meditating on the word of God, also worshipping God.

My hemoglobin level dropped from my normal count of 13.4 to only 6.4 after I was discharged 3 days later. This was compounded by irritable bowel syndrome (i.b.s.) which injured my wound. How the Lord healed me supernaturally of i.b.s. is another miracle because whatever medicine I tried just didn't work. I want to praise and thank God for healing me of i.b.s. after some weeks of prayer.

After more than a month, the Lord raised my hemoglobin level from 6.4 to 7.5 to 7.8, to 11.7 and then in early March, it was raised to my normal level of 13.3 naturally without blood transfusion. Hallelujah!! All glory to our Lord God Almighty for this miracle of restoration.

I want to thank Pastor John Ebinezar, sis. Esther John, Pastor Pauline Balraj, bro. Chan Kwan Ping, sis. Jessie Ng and my life group members (UP2 lifegroup) for praying along with me at some point during my recovery. I also want to appreciate and thank my family for their care and support throughout my recovery period of about 2 months in all.

Our God is indeed awesome and faithful even though my faith was shaken by the unexpected bleeding incident which was traumatic, our God is faithful and saw me through. He has delivered me from all my fears as I sought Him diligently and He strengthened my faith through this journey. He has literally delivered me from death to life, restored me to health and healed my wounds (Jeremiah 32:17). Hallelujah! All glory, honor and praises to our Lord Jesus Christ for His grace and mercy in healing me miraculously, brought me back from near death to life and restored me to health and healed my wounds, amen.

In conjunction with our Malaysia day on 16 Sept,.

As we look back through the journey, many of the issues and situations that we have been praying for may have not turned out to be better.

Our main responsibility is to remain faithful in seeking the heartbeat of the Lord in all things; for we have been called to be watchmen over the nation, city and town, where the Lord has placed us. We must continue to safeguard future generations with prayers and petitions to Him as each of us carry the beacon of hope that should emit light in the midst of darkness.

Hence, we encourage you not to give up, but to set aside another 40 days to fast and pray for our nation. Our theme for 2021 is “Be Still, and Know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10), and it is timely for this season where everything below is sifting and shaking. The secret of being still lies with our knowledge and relationship with our Maker, who is the Author of our life and the Finisher of our faith!

Muhibbah Bersama MetroTab – Bantuan Makanan Runcit, a food aid distribution project jointly organised by HOPE Ministries and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Destiny Metro (a registered NGO founded by MetroTab) has been opened to the public since 5 July 2021.
