Natural state of Mind nikyta wilkins

Jasmine Rodgers, 25, has never been afraid to embrace her natural state.
Beginning her natural journey in 2014 was both a blessing and lesson to her.
Jasmine turned to protective styles not only to save money, but to better her hair.
Before any protective style Jasmine deep conditions and intense repairs her roots. An average protective can last up to a month for her.
Growing up up getting relaxers and hair dyes were both damaging and bad on her hair texture.
In college she hated how the media painted that having straight hair was the only way to wear your hair. So she found other alternatives like dread locks and cornrows to enjoy her natural hair..
Using protective styles are extremely great for the different seasons. Jasmine mainly installs these styles during the summer to avoid sweaty roots and hair.
This movement comes with patience and being open minded to change.
Jasmine hopes that her natural hair journey inspires other African American women to embrace their natural beauty and keep the trend alive and empowering.
