DESTINATION INFORMATION

ABOUT NEW YORK CITY - Officially, the City of New York with a population of almost 8.5MIL, is the largest and most influential American metropolis, encompassing Manhattan and Staten islands, the western sections of Long Island, and a small portion of the New York state mainland to the north of Manhattan. New York City, the most populous and the most international city in the country, is both the gateway to the North American continent and its preferred exit to the oceans of the globe. New York City consists of five boroughs, each of which is a separate county of the State of New York. A global power city, New York City has been described as the cultural, financial, and media capital of the world, and exerts a significant impact upon commerce, entertainment, research, technology, education, politics, tourism, art, fashion, and sports. In 2019, New York City was voted the greatest city in the world in a survey from 48 cities worldwide. The city has been called both the most economically powerful city and the leading financial center of the world. New York City has many well known landmarks, with three of the world's ten most visited tourist attractions in 2013 and received a record 62.8 million tourists in 2017. Several sources have ranked New York City as the most photographed city in the world.

ABOUT HARLEM - As a hub of African American culture, Harlem has played a vital role in the history of New York City. Today, the neighborhood is as vibrant as ever as new businesses and developments go up next to local institutions. The heart of the neighborhood is bustling 125th Street, where street vendors and historic landmarks like the Apollo Theater mingle with big-name stores. Turn down almost any corner, and you’ll discover some of the most beautiful blocks in the city, filled with handsome brownstones, soul food restaurants, corner shops, and scenic parks. For a taste of a real New York neighborhood, it’s hard to top a visit to Harlem.

ABOUT BROOKLYN - In the early 1900s, Brooklyn was a mecca for immigrants arriving thru Ellis Island. Today, young professionals and artists habitat Brooklyn's cheaper and more expansive space. Brooklyn Heights and Park Slope neighborhoods have been restored and reborn as funky enclaves. Brooklyn Bridge offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline. From the delicious Italian restaurants of Bensonhurst to the Irish bars that line the avenues of Bay Ridge, from the hotdogs and rollercoasters of Coney Island to the bagels and handball courts of Greenpoint, Brooklyn is a state of mind as well as a dynamic community.

ABOUT NIAGARA FALLS - Niagara Falls is a group of three waterfalls at the southern end of Niagara Gorge, between the Canadian province of Ontario and the US state of New York. The largest is Horseshoe Falls, also known as Canadian Falls, which straddles the international border between Canada and the United States. Niagara Falls produces a phenomenal amount of electricity for the State of New York, around 2.4 gigawatts. There are several hydropower plants in and around Niagara Falls producing electricity for America and Canada.
