TORNADO MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY 2019 SEASON PREVIEW

The King University men's cross country team is looking for improvement off of last season's Conference Carolinas finish. First-year head coach Nathan Meeuwenberg joins a squad that should be led by a solid group of returners.

KYLE HART

  • Reshirted in 2018
  • As a freshmen, Set personal best 8k time of 29:20.7 at the Conference Carolinas Championship
  • Finished 40th at the conference championship

DANIEL KOVALCHICK

  • 8k personal record last season of 27:26 at teh Royals XC Challenge
  • Finished eighth at Tusculum Open
  • Career-best 8k time of 27:26

BRANDON BEJARANO

  • Ran in every meet a season ago
  • 8k personal best time of 29:42 at the Royals XC Challenge
  • 10k personal record of 38:37.56 at the NCAA Southeast Regional

KADE MCDONALD

HEAD COACH

Nathan Meewenberg

Meeuwenberg joined the Tornado staff in August following a stint leading the Science Hill High School cross country programs and serving as an assistant for the track & field programs. He joined the Science Hill programs in the spring of 2016, coaching one state champion in his first year and improving the Hilltoppers' finish from 15th to 10th at the state championships. The next year, Meeuwenberg coached an individual to a school record mile time as she posted the second fastest time in the country.
