Women's Hockey Advance to BUCS Championship Semi Finals

Women's hockey travelled to Oxford on Wednesday to face the home side in the quarter finals of their BUCS championship. The match ended 2-2 at full-time, leaving the opportunity to progress to the semi-finals down to penalty flicks. The Edinburgh University side kept their cool and won the match on flicks, allowing them to progress to the semi-final next Wednesday against the University of Birmingham! Congratulations team and good luck in the semi-final!

Archer's Success at Scottish Student Indoor Archery Championships

Last week at the Scottish Student Archery Indoor Championships, Edinburgh University archers sealed a number of top spots and managed to win both the team Recurve and the Novice team Recurve titles.

Guy Matzkin won the Gentlemen's Recurve, while Ladies Recurve 1st place went to Neringa Siugzdinyte with Lisa Kompfner and Johanna Meyer finishing in 3rd and 4th place respectively for Edinburgh.

In the Gentlemen's Novice Recurve Josh Croall took the top spot with David Prato, also from the University of Edinburgh, finishing a close second.

Pip Tucknot won the Gentlemen's Compound and Edward Pike and Jessica Nirkko both placed first in the Traditional Gentlemen and Ladies competition. Congratulations to ALL our archers!

3 Edinburgh University Players Announced in Scotland Senior Men Squad

Jamie Forrester, Dan Coultas and Jamie Wong were this week announced in Coach Derek Forsyth's Scotland Senior Men's Hockey Squad. The squad will compete at the World League 2 in Belfast starting this Saturday (11th) and running until the 19th of March. Scotland will face Poland, Wales and France in their pool, the latter of which Scotland recently faced in a series of close test matches. Edinburgh University Women's Rugby Athletes Continue to Represent at International Level

Men's hockey are not the only ones from Edinburgh University gaining international honours this weekend, women's rugby are also strongly represented at the international level. After a huge success last weekend that saw 8 past and present athletes from the women's rugby programme help Scotland to a victory over Wales, 6 athletes have been selected for Coach Munro's team facing England away at Twickenham Stoop this Saturday. The match kicks off Saturday at 1pm, good luck all our athletes involved!

Edinburgh International Swim Meet

This weekend the Edinburgh International Swim Meet, a highlight of the Scottish Swimming Calendar, returns to the Royal Commonwealth Pool. The University of Edinburgh Sport are once again lead sponsor and many of our Performance Swimmers will be competing .

Amongst these are University swimmers Calum Tait, Commonwealth bronze medallist Corre Scott and Nicholas Quinn, who returns after reaching the Rio Olympics for Ireland. Good luck to all our athletes and if you are interested in attending the event, tickets are available from the link below:
