Festival of Cultures

Hundreds from the Smith community turned out for the annual Festival of Cultures Tuesday evening. Many heritages and cultures were showcased--what a fantastic evening of learning, sharing, and delicious food!

The International Club would like to thank all parents, staff, and students who helped make this year’s Festival of Cultures such a hit. It was held on March 21st; over 300 people gathered in our cafeteria to share and explore cultures. We had 39 countries or regions presented by 74 students. There was a lot of great food to enjoy as well information, pictures, artifacts, and exciting activities like calligraphy, henna, and games. We would like to thank all of those who prepared food and activities, Thanks to their efforts, we raised $629.20 and were happy to donate all proceeds to support Smith and Troy People Concerned. Thanks for a great evening of fun!

Beyond Black & White

Beyond Black & White 2017 - Stories of Us is an event that allows for our diverse community to honor and reflect on both diversity; who we are, and inclusion; what we do. In our efforts to define and embody World Class by 2020, time spent reflecting on our value-added diversity is not only time well-spent, but a necessary component to completing our mission. Deepening our own learning about who we are and what we can accomplish together as a diverse community is something worth highlighting.
