21th Sunday After Pentecost October 25th, 2020

These are the lessons of the Twenty-first Sunday after Pentecost. In the Old Testament passages we first read of the death of Moses, and then the Psalm attributed to him. In the epistle reading, we hear testimony of the apostle's lovingkindness and genuine care for those who had received the gospel in Thessalonica. Likewise, Christ speaks of such a love of God and neighbor as the greatest of all the commandments.

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and prosper for us the work of our hands.

A Prayer

Almighty God, your Son has shown us by His life and death how we are to love one another. By the power of your Holy Spirit, may our love for you overflow into joyful service and be a healing witness to our neighbors through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
