Headmaster's Commendation Moments of excellence...

The History Department have sent me a number of senior pupils this week based on creative projects that they have been working on related to Thomas Becket Yr7, and the Boston Massacre Yr8.
Krish Kapur painstakingly created this stained glass window depicting the moments the knights followed through on Henry's words...
Vikrum Shah captured the frightening scene with such detail...

Britain had as grizzly a past as any nation but History allows us to build our knowledge as to how these mistakes can and must be avoided in the future...

I am delighted that we maintain the broad and balanced curriculum that we do as otherwise we are doing a real disservice to our pupils. More and more schools are amalgamating the humanities in an effort to bolster English and Maths - a short term view that has already impacted the choices of young people at GCSE and A-Level...Orleyans will not have this restricted diet...it leads to narrow views in a shrinking world!

Mevan Wijayatilake also captured this moment with an amazing sense of detail.
If Mr Trump had has way, teachers would be armed...thankfully this is not the case!
Aryan Marde created this rifle & bayonet as part of his tour of Boston - this project has clearly captured the imaginations of our Yr8 pupils.
Inspired by the Apprentice, Aaron Kibra created these gifts as part of his Boston Tour!
Arjan Dhanjal completed a fantastic project in DT
Tanav quite literally blew me away this afternoon as Miss Mowle brought him over to show me his work based on the London project that Yr1 are doing at the moment...he knew the names of the bridges, the landmarks, the parks and even the tube stations that had all been fashioned from lego and scrap-modelling. I was so impressed with the level of detail that he showed...
Tower Bridge with opening bridge!
The Shard...
