Well done to the Duke of Edinburgh pupils and staff. The pupils are working towards their Bronze accreditation and having a practice expedition to Ben Cleuch this weekend.

Parent Council Meeting 27/9/18

It was pleasing to see many Alloa Academy and St Mungo's RC Primary School parents come along to the Special Parent Council meeting on Thursday 27th Sept.

Parents came along to the meeting to hear an update on the issues which have lead to St Mungo's RC Primary being temporarily located in Alloa Academy. The meeting was chaired by Anne Pearson (Chief Education Officer) and was also attended by Educational Mangers and Local Councillors. Parents were given the chance to express their opinions and have their say on future decisions and plans.

Parent Councils, Headteachers and Educational Managers will continue to work in partnership to ensure the agreed actions are being worked upon and that the young people have a high standard education and care in both schools.

For more information, please see the letter sent to all parents on Friday 29/9/18.

Modern Languages

It is was nice to see the amount of effort that the Modern Langues team put into celebrating the European Day of Languages on 26th Sept. There were lots of fun activities throughout the day.

MacMillan Coffee Morning

Mrs Richardson and a team of pupils and staff were very busy this week planing a fantastic coffee (CAKE) morning. Over £300 was raised for the very deserving cause. Delicious and fun charity work!

National Ties

Our National Ties have arrived and the pupils who represent their country have the opportunity to share their success by wearing this special tie.

Below we have Kirsty McGauchrane who represents Scotland at Ice Skating and Sam Scobie who represents Scotland at Karate.

Well done.

Reading

Reading is something we value very highly in Alloa Academy.

It can have such a positive impact on our learners education and their well-being.

It is lovely to see the S1 pupils relishing our Bookbuzz project in the pictures above.

Pupils and parents, please keep up to date with all our Library and English work on the following links.
