A great start
It's been wonderful to see so many exciting activities around school this week and so much learning going on in classrooms. We've also seen some of our music lessons get up and running again with recorders, violins, violas, drums and ukuleles.
Our second Zoom celebration assembly was a real success this morning with all our new reception children joining in for the first time. They sat and listened brilliantly throughout so well done to all. It also gave us chance to announce our new house captains and house point ambassadors. Congratulations to those who were chosen by their teachers.
Well done to everyone for a fantastic week and I hope you have a great weekend.
Additional change for next week
The green gate can be used to both enter and exit the site. Please note however that if entering the site this way you will only be able to walk across the grass. This will allow us to maintain a one way system in school and ensure everyone feels safe enough in the school grounds.
We would appreciate it if all families could leave the site straight after picking up children. Now our after school club is back up and running it is important that we have the full site available for use from around 3.15pm. Thank you.
What to do if your child has suspected symptoms
Please ensure children do not come into school if they have a new, continuous cough or a high temperature, or has a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia).
If anyone in the school becomes unwell with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature, or has a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia), they must be sent home and advised to follow ‘stay at home: guidance for households with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infection’, which sets out that they must self-isolate for at least 10 days and should arrange to have a test to see if they have coronavirus (COVID-19). Other members of their household (including any siblings) should self-isolate for 14 days from when the symptomatic person first had symptoms.
The Y6 House Captains were announced in this weeks celebration assembly. These children were selected by Mr Prosser and Miss Collyer and they will now have the responsibility of leading and motivating their respective houses during the year. In addition, when their house wins the weekly house point competition, they will deliver a speech in our Celebration Assembly.
Elm (Red) - Charlie Fry & Cerys Warren
Beech (Yellow) - Olly Chitson & Katy Contardi
Oak (White) - Matilda Parsons and Jake Whitby

Mr Prosser and Miss Collyer also appointed

with the very important job of totaling all house points each week.

Children in Reception to Year 6 from September 2020 are eligible for a Free Nasal Childhood Flu Vaccination.
The Immunisation Team will be in school on 12th November to carry out the vaccinations, this will be administered adhering to all up to date Infection Control, PPE and social distancing guidance.
Flu vaccination is one of the most effective interventions we have to reduce pressure on the health and social care system which is going to be more important than ever this year. For this reason, it is essential we deliver the vaccine to as many children as possible to prevent the spread of infection to those most at risk in society.
In light of the above we are expecting demand to be high and therefore we urge you to follow the below link to consent to your child’s vaccination now. Even if you do not want your child to receive this vaccination, please complete the consent form stating “no” consent. You will also find answers to your FAQ’s on this link.
If you have any difficulties with completing the consent form please contact the Immunisation Team on our Single Point of Access (SPA). Tel: 0300 247 0082
Alongside this they will offer community clinics throughout the season if you child misses their vaccine at school.
Some children are more at risk from Flu and for these medically vulnerable children we would like to offer early clinics to ensure they are protected at the earliest opportunity. If you believe your child fits into this category please contact our Single Point of Access (SPA) on 0300 247 0082 to book into a clinic that is convenient to you.
