MANAGEMENT SERVICES
CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
To emphasize social distancing, county officials recently issued a “safer at home” health order.
RESOURCES FOR RESIDENTS
For those financially affected by the coronavirus outbreak, we've compiled a list of resources available to the Temple City community.
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TC RESTAURANTS
While you're staying "safer at home,” continue to support TC restaurants by ordering take-out or delivery for your next meal. Check out our handy-dandy list and let us know if we've missed a restaurant or if services have changed.
PARKING ENFORCEMENT
All parking enforcement related to street sweeping and overnight parking is canceled until further notice. Officers will continue to enforce parking restrictions in city-owned parking lots and issue citations for violations that pose safety concerns (ex: double-parked vehicles in the street, parking along red curbs, and parking in front of driveways and hydrants).
CITY CLERK
CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS
As a precaution to the coronavirus outbreak, members of the public are asked to follow the California Department of Health’s Guidance on mass gatherings should they choose to attend City Council meetings in person. All seating in the Council Chambers will be spaced following social distancing of six feet per person (as recommended by State guidelines).
To participate in the meeting remotely, you can access it livestream. Public comment will be accepted via email to cityclerk@templecity.us before or during the meeting, prior to the close of public comment on an item. Emailed comments will be read by the City Clerk during public comment. Lengthy public comment may be summarized in the interest of time.
Council meetings are also videotaped and can be viewed on Spectrum Cable TV channel 3. An online meeting archive is also available.
COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE MEETINGS
City commission and committee meetings are canceled until further notice. For more information, call the City Clerk’s office at (626) 285-2171.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
TEMPLE CITY RECEIVES PLANNING GRANT
The City was recently notified that it will soon receive a $160,000 planning grant. This funding will be used to streamline the discretionary review process, maintain the City’s design objectives, reduce the cost of housing construction and increase the speed of housing construction.
Staff will soon initiate the project by hiring an architectural and planning firm to create sample site plans, elevations and floor plans for multi-family projects. These “sample plans” for typically-sized sites in the R-2 and R-3 zones would then be translated into “objective design standards.” The standards will include a variety of pre-approved palettes of materials and colors to assist in creating individuality.
As it becomes available, more information will be provided in subsequent reports.
