MAY 2019 ABBA'S PRIDE NEWSLETTER

THANK YOU!

We are so grateful for your continued support. Whether you are praying for us, reading our newsletter or giving your time and money, it is moves this ministry forward. May has been a month filled with some bumps in the road but we praise God that he saw us through. May marks the early days of winter here in South Africa and that means a busy time for us, we are so excited for our Serve South Africa Interns and all the missions teams who will be serving alongside us the next 3 months.

GOD IS GOOD.

FARMING PROJECT

The Farming Project is intended to help provide better meals for the children in the Early Childhood Centers that we support. We have supplied vegetables seeds and lots of support to the centers to help them grow healthy plants. Now we are started to see a harvest.

"That’s a wrap! The first phase of planting is complete and the sites are looking amazing. Some sites are already able to pick leaves to help add to the meals prepared for the children!" - Gail Vermaak, Agriculture Project Manager

THE INTERNS ARE HERE!

The Winter has begun and so that means the Serve South Africa Internship Program kicks off!

L-R: Hannah Deem, Anna Goldsmith (Intern Co-ordinator), Morgan Green and Kinsey Weaver.
The Serve South Africa internship is an incredibly exciting time of year for Abba's Pride as we welcome young adults from around the world to be part of our ministry and what God is doing in South Africa. The goal of the internship is to mentor and disciple these young people as many of them experience cross-cultural missions for the first time. This experience can be incredibly impactful, yet challenging as the interns are stretched and challenged personally, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. This year we are excited to welcome 3 young ladies from across the United States. Please pray for them as they begin their time in South Africa that God would guide them and open their eyes to how they can best serve him. Our prayer is that they would allow God to use them in mighty ways as we partner with South Africans to train teachers, feed children, and most importantly, share the love of Jesus.

We would like to thank everyone who prayed with us during Abba's Pride's Day of Prayer. We understand that more than anything, it is important to bring our plans before God in prayer.

Lastly, please continue to pray for all the Missions Teams that will be joining in the work of Abba's Pride this summer. The challenge of short-term missions is impacting communities without hurting them even without knowing. Pray for us as we join together with American communities to impact communities in South Africa.
