Thesis: Shakespeare influenced the world through his early, middle, and later life.

Shakespeare influenced the world through his early life

Quote: "William Shakespeare was born in the small market town of Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564, the third of eight children. Therefore, the generally accepted date for Shakespeare’s birth is April 23"(Lander).

Commentary: This shows Shakespeare's early life. For example, his family, where he was born, and where he grew up. This is an important quote because it shows that Shakespeare grew up in such a small town than later became one of the most popular writer.

Quote:"William attended grammar, Latin literature and rhetoric. As, far as we know, he had no further formal education"(Humphrey).

Commentary:This shows when Shakespeare was younger and the schools he attended. William mostly only had english knowledge and with that he became a wonderful writer and influenced many people.

Quote:"His father, John Shakespeare, was successful in the leather business during Shakespeare's early childhood but later met with financial difficulties"("William")

Commentary: This is an example of Shakespeare's early life and about his dads job and how his dad worked for his family. For example, with such a huge family Shakespeare's family faced financial problems, but even with this Shakespeare was still able to become the great writer he is.

Shakespeare influenced the world through his middle life

Quote:"At the age of 18, William was young to marry, while Anne at 26 was of normal marrying age. The marriage appears to have been hurried, and the birth of their first child, Susanna, in May 1583 came only six months after marriage. Early in 1585, Anne gave birth to twins, Judith and Hamnet"(Lander).

Commentary:These facts talk about Shakespeare's middle life. In total Shakespeare had 3 children. Shakespeare was able to balance having kids and wife with writing and creating plays.

Quote:"Shakespeare was the ultimate professional writer. Romeo and Juliet was probably among the early plays that Shakespeare wrote"(Humphrey).

Commentary:This shows how great Shakespeare became. In addition, Shakespeare had theaters and plays, actors that needed parts, and a family that needed to be fed.

Quote: "The lost years fall into two periods: 1578-82 and 1585-92. The first period covers the time after Shakespeare left grammar school until his marriage to Anne Hathaway in November of 1582. The second period covers the seven years of Shakespeare's life in which he must have been perfecting his dramatic skills and collecting sources for the plots of his plays"(Amanda).

Commentary:This show Shakespeare's middle life and the lot years. The lost years are two major spans of time that are referred to as the "lost years". The first period covers the time after Shakespeare left grammar school, until his marriage to Anne Hathaway.

Quote:"August 11 of the same year, Shakespeare's son, Hamnet, died at the age of eleven"(Amanda).

Commentary:This shows one hard moment of Shakespeare''s life. Shakespeare had to be running plays and creating more and more books and with his sons death it probable made things a lot harder.

Shakespeare influenced the world through his later life

Quote:"Shakespeare had written thirty-seven plays. Shakespeare's plays ate still produce all over the world"(Humphrey).

Commentary:This shows all the plays Shakespeare had written, and how much Shakespeare has impacted society because even though he passed away so long ago people still produce his play to this day.

Quote: "When Shakespeare died in 1616, he left his dear friend Burbage money to buy a mourning-ring in his memory. Burbage died on March 9, 1619, and "the true sound of Shakespeare's lines, as he had conceived them [and] Burbage had interpreted them, was silenced forever". (Holmes 203)

Commentary:This shows the when Shakespeare died and what he left behind for his friend. After, his friends death the lines that Shakespeare wrote still were kept.

Quote:"Mark Twain's 1909 book, Is Shakespeare Dead?, was popularizing the case in the United States"(Diana).

Commentary:This is one example of how Shakespeare influenced many people. Even 100's of year after Shakespeare's death people still wrote about him.
