St. Peter or Simon was born in Bethsaidia and grew up to be a fisherman. One day when he was out fishing, Jesus came up to him and asked Peter to follow him. Jesus said, "I will make you fishers of men."
He followed Jesus along with 12 other disciples until Jesus' Death in c. 33 AD. Even after Jesus was gone, Peter still continued to spread the Word of God. In doing this, he became the first pope and continued until 68 AD.
Peter later died in Vatican around 68 AD.
