The Sandstone Cathedral Antelope canyon, arizona

Antelope Canyon is situated on Navajo land, a few miles east of Page, Arizona. There are two separate, scenic slot canyon sections, Upper Antelope Canyon and Lower Antelope Canyon. Both are breathtakingly beautiful.

The Upper Canyon is more popular with tourists as the entire canyon is at ground level. The canyon is best viewed around lunchtime, when shafts of light enter from above and play on the warm sandstone walls.

Upper Antelope Canyon

A few miles away, Lower Antelope Canyon requires a steep descent, down metal stairways bolted to the rocks. The canyon is twice the length of the Upper Canyon, and best viewed early morning and late afternoon when the light penetrating the slot is better.

Unlike Upper Canyon, visitors take a one-way trip through the narrow slot - exiting through a narrow crack in the Earth's surface.

Page, Lake Powell and the surrounding landscape are full of amazing sights too...
