Typical American culture
Family and Marriage:
There are two typical American families: one is a family where the husband and wife stay together; the second is where the husband and wife divorce and remarry. Divorce is very common in the US. The divorce rate in the US is more than 50% of marriages. Many families and divorced parents still keep in contact to help the kids when travelling back and forth from one parent's home to the other.
Fast food plays a big part in american food choices. McDonalds, Chic-Fil-A, Wendy's, ect. are typical places someone would eat at for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Americans typically enjoy popular music. This is normally any recent releases from any popular artists like Ed Sheeran, Beyonce, Rihanna, ect. In American history we have developed our own music genre, in the south Jazz was born in New Orleans.
The most common language in the US is English. There are subcultures in the US where there is a mixture of English and another language. For example, in Louisiana there is the subculture of Cajun where it's a mixture of English and french language, enabling their own specific accent.
Americans shake hands as a greeting in professional situations. While in more comfortable situations with family and friends, Americans either give hugs as a way of greeting or "high-five."
The main religion that is recognized nation wide is Christianity, but our government does not support one specific religion. The US is the "melting pot" of cultures so there are many different celebrated religions.
American fashion changes through the years. 2017 is the year of long bobs and thin eyebrows. Fashion is typically dictated by the celebrities such as Kim West and Kanye.
Americans generally as a whole believe in Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. We believe in voting rights and the essentials of good food.
