David Shannon An author and an illustrator

David Shannon was born in Washington D.C.

But he grew up in Spokane Washington, on the other side of the country!

He went to college in California, and then he moved to New York City.

Now, he lives in Los Angeles with his wife, daughter, and their dog, Fergus.

David Shannon likes to use experiences from his own life to write his books. His daughter would make animal noises before she could talk, so he wrote "Duck on a Bike". And, he wrote "Good Boy Fergus", about his own dog!

The books below are just some of David Shannon's books. But he has so many more! Some of my favorites are "Duck on a Bike", "It's Christmas David", and "David Goes to School" but you can see all of David Shannon's books by following the link that says "David Shannon's Book's"

David Shannon does not have a lot of quotes but the ones he does have are really good.

"Life is not simple, and therefore history, which is past life, is not simple" David Shannon

"Fairy dust if very useful. I use it to turn oatmeal into cake" David Shannon

David Shannon writes in two main genres, realistic fiction, and fantasy.

Realistic fiction examples: The entire David series is in the realistic fiction genre, books such as "No, David" and "David Goes to School"

Fantasy examples: "Duck on a Bike" and "Duck on a Tractor"
