Simone Biles By: Alexis bagnaeris

Simone Biles was born on March 14, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. Simone and her sister Adria were raised by their grandparents after their mom struggled with a substance abuse problem. Their grandparents named Ron and Nellie adopted them officially, and the sisters called there grandparents mom and dad. Nellie supports Simone in her athletic skills, and she is the source of Simone doing gymnastics. Biles was on a field trip to a gymnastics center, and when she got the feeling of flipping she knew this was her passion.

Biles as a child

Simone developed new skills in gymnastics, and grew up doing flips. When she went to the gymnastics center the coach noticed her imitating the other gymnast. The coach wanted her to join the team, so she sent out a letter. When Simone started classes she did what she was supposed to do, and she moved up a level every time she would do that right skill and do that skill really good. They noticed that Biles needed to be with another group they moved her up, and when she was with the other group she did very well. When she competed she would get a metal, and in every competition she would try her best.

Simone at a competition

Simone has made it to the Olympics, and her grandparents were very proud. At first there was a problem with her age, so she couldn't compete in 2015. Then she was able to go to the Olympics in 2016, and won everything. She has her own move called the Biles flip were she does a round off back layout with a full twist. She made a quote and that was "If I won gold in 2016, I think it would change my life". She became good friends with her team, and she lead them to gold. When the team won they were all very happy that they won the Olympics.
