The use of alcoholism affects someone's family even if the drinker might not think that. Being backed up to a memory while you're drunk, a memory that hurt you or is still bugging you might affect the action you take. If it involves someone punishing you or hurting you, you might react in a negative way and try hurting them back. This is really not you, its you being controlled by alcohol. This is the reason you might also affect your family. If you're drunk and and make a negative action your punishment for taking that action might roll back to your family. Your family is the one you spend your lifetime with, the ones who care about you, The actions you take will also affect them.

How does alcohol abuse affect an individual?

After a long time of drinking, you can develop diseases. A disease you can develop is liver inflammation. Alcohol can destroy liver cells. If your liver is overwhelmed with alcohol is can become seriously damaged and might get scarring. This is now affecting you health. If you're not healthy the chance of you being able to do activities you enjoy reduces.

There are several different treatments you can get for alcohol abuse. One of the treatment is behavioral treatments. This included help in how you react with or without the use if alcohol usage.

Is it effective? - Most research says that one third of the people being treated have good affects because of the treatment.
