Susan Meiselas is an American photojournalist who has been associated with Magnum Photos since 1976 and a full member since 1980. She has published several books of her own photographs and has edited and contributed to some others.Susan Meiselas, born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1948 acheveied her BA from Sarah Lawrence College and her MA in visual education from Harvard University. She is best known for her coverage of the insurrection in Nicaragua and her documentation of human rights issues in Latin America. She traveled to India, France,Nicaragua,Indonesia,Chile, El Salvador,Portugal and more.I like that Susan doesn't care if its uncomfortable were she is she will take the picture anyway just so the viewer can get informed with whats actually going on.I would love to have the chance to travel and show people in America especially that we aren't the only country in the world and that their is huge tragedies around the globe.

Migrants in Calais, France (2008)

This photo has a lot of back lighting and it also has motion blur. The subject is in focus but the object is defiantly blurred. There is also the use of lines and negative space which are powerful elements in photography .I like how much suspense is created by viewing this image like your there watching this play out in front of your eyes.
