Scottish Highlands Civics - Lesson 12 - assignment #4c

The term "Scottish Highlands" denotes the historic mountainous region of Scotland.
The Highlands are brimming with interesting and unique wildlife that thrive in this sparsely populated environment. You will find dolphins, puffins, seals, otters, and various other rare species.
While you will not find many people currently living there, the Scottish Highlands are home to many ancient castles and fortresses which once may have belonged to British nobles and lords who arrived in Scotland hoping to establish royal authority in this individualistic country. The castles make this fascinating landscape even more alluring to tourists and and adventure-seekers.
The Highlands region of Scotland is a landscape full of beauty. In the spring and summer the hillsides are covered in various types of flowers...
...and in the winter, the mountains, grass, and trees are all covered in a sheet of white snow and and the various rivers, lakes, and creeks freeze over.

The Highlands of Scotland are a beautiful and mysterious region full of amazing sights and rich history. It is a land straight out of fairy tales, perfect for anyone seeking adventure.
