Thesis; Shakespeare influenced the world through his early, middle, and late life.
Shakespeares early life;
Quote #1: "The Shakespeare's were a family of considerable local prominence." (Lander 16)
Commentary: Since Shakespeare's family had decent jobs he was considered in the middle class.In Shakespeare's family in his early life he was an alderman and elected mayor so him and his family was considered middle class. Shakespeare was elected mayor in his early life , he was not struggling financially until later on in his life
Quote #2:"Beginning at about the age of 7, William probably attended the Stratford grammar school with other boys of his social class." (Lander 17)
Commentary:Shakespeare attended school at an early age and learned proper grammar.Shakespeare being put in a grammar school is most likely the reason as to why he was able to create new words or hi own language. In Shakespeare's plays he uses his own langue that he has created.
Quote #3:"Matters were not improved in 1582 when Shakespeare, at the age of eighteen, hastily married Anne Hathaway, the twenty-six-year-old daughter of a farmer from the nearby village of Shottery"
Shakespeares middle life
Commentary: Shakepeare married at a young age.William marrying Anne Hathaway was an impulsive decision. But just a little while later him and Anne had unexpected twins. They soon stayed at their parents' home for a little while and raised their twins there.
Quote #4:" Shakespeare was in 1592 an actor who also wrote plays." (Lander)
Commentary:In 1592 Shakespeare started out with acting and progressed into a play writer as well.Just as William started out his career he was an actor and then a play writer. He has become popular overtime the more better his play writing got.
Quote #5:" What is certain is that by 1594 Shakespeare was a sharer in the Lord Chamberlain’s Men." (Lander)
Shakespeares late life
Commentary:Shakespeare became a sharer in the company, "the Lord Chamberlains Men".The sharer of a company is basically just the person that is a stockholder. Since he was a stockholder he shared some of the profits from the company. This was keeping William stable financially.
Quote #6:"From mid-1592 to 1594, London authorities frequently closed the theaters because of repeated outbreaks of plague." (Lander)
Commentary:The theater that Shakespeare was working at got closed down because of the plague.Since it got shut down Shakespeare had no source on income. So he just switched to writing poems instead, as a source of money. And it just so happens to be another thing that he was good at as well.
Quote #7:"Unfortunately, also in 1596, Shakespeare suffered a setback when his son, Hamnet, died at the age of eleven"
Commentary:Shakespeare had a bit of a distraction in his personal life when his 11 year old son died.Towards the middle/end of Shakespeares life he had a distraction or setback he his son Hamnet died. During that time his affection for his other two children grew and it may be expressed in many of his funny/ witty plays.
Quote #8:" The 154 sonnets, tracing a friendship with a young man and a romance with a “dark lady,” (Branam)
Commentary:He wrote about a man having a romantic relationship with a lady, which people started to wonder about.His work started becoming personal. People started to question what he was doing when he was away from his wife and kids back at home.
Quote #9:"Shakespeare’s company in London prospered. In 1599, it stopped renting theaters and built its own" (Branam)
Commentary: Shakespeares company stopped renting out building to use and they have decided to create their own.Since Shakespeares company was doing so well they have took it upon themselves to create their own building to use. They named it "The Globe" which was used for very many special presentations.
Quote #10: "His monument records the day of death as April 23, the generally accepted date of his birth." (Branam)
Commentary: Shakespeare died on April 23,1616 and has a monument in Stratford. Shakespeares death was a tragic moment in the US history. He was and is one of the most memorable play writers and actors. Till this day he is remembered as a remarkable person in history because of his affects in language arts and writing.
