Join us for "Creating a Community: A Welcome Event for ICoHS" The international community of the holy sepulchre's September 2020 Newsletter

Dear Friends and Supporters,

2020 Is an exceptional year, and we live in strange times due to the limitations of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the beginning of this year, we planned to organize an official launch of the International Community of the Holy Sepulchre (ICoHS) with our friends and supporters and friends. Unfortunately, this had to be postponed due to the ongoing pandemic and subsequent travel restrictions. Now that it seems unlikely that we will be able to hold any physical events in the near future, we want to invite you, as a friend and supporter of ICoHS, to join our upcoming event – Creating a Community: A Welcome Event for ICoHS.

You are warmly invited to join us for this free event taking place on Friday, October 23rd from 16:00-17:00 BST / 9:00-10:00 EST. Various church leaders from the Holy Land will speak about the importance of their presence and ministries, and you will learn more about how our international community supports them.

Two years ago, the Council of Patriarchs and Heads of Churches in Jerusalem supported the creation of a charity to advocate on behalf of, and raise support for, Christians in the Holy Land. ICoHS is the result of that initiative. Our mission is to help secure the future of the Christian community in the Holy Land, ensure their voices are heard, and directly support the ministries and mission of churches in the Holy Land.

During this 60-minute event, we will share more about ICoHS’ mission and goals and highlight the community-building ministries that the Churches in the Holy Land faithfully run.

We have an exciting line-up of speakers participating in this live global event, including:

  • Patriarch Theophilos III, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem
  • Father Ramzi Sidawi OFM, Custody of the Holy Land
  • Bishop Coadjutor Hosam Naoum, Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem
  • Pastor Carrie Ballenger, Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land

Through this line-up of inspiring Christian leaders, you will learn more about those who live and serve in the footsteps of Christ, the response of the Churches to COVID-19, and the need for a thriving Christian community in the region. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions about the current situation in the Holy Land and learn more about our “Bethlehem Star” event, which will air live from Bethlehem, on November 19, 2020.

Looking forward to welcoming you to the ICoHS community and meeting you on October 23rd!

The International Community of the Holy Sepulchre helps the Churches in the Holy Land raise international awareness of the challenges that Christians face in the region while promoting the flourishing of all people in the Middle East. To learn more, visit us at www.icohs.org.
