Caleb's Photovoice Portfolio

Week 1 Photovoice

6 photos for Week 1 of photovoice
This is a silhouette photo of my self that I took by adjusting the focus of the camera to the light instead of my face.
Photo 1: While driving on the highway I took a picture of the sun on the trees. Photo 2: As I was on the highway I saw a cloud created from a jet and saw an opportunity to take a photo. It was busy and there is a lot of other distractions which makes the viewer look deeper in the image and find the cloud.

Week 2 Photovoice

Photovoice Week 2: 2 snapshots and 2 portraits of Garrett, Tarek, Princess Levy and Ariana I walked into the courtyard and saw the lighting of the school lights and the sun a saw a great opportunity to capture a great snapshot. Although there is more action going on in the photo the eye is drawn to the image of the two girls hugging.

This image demonstrated the importance of bullying and the effects it can have on a person.

Week 4

Artist Statement

"STOP BULLYING!": Made fun of, laughed at, physical harassment, being hit, threatened, excluded, constantly anxious and fearful. These words represent the emotions and experiences that victims of bullies are forced to endure. This message is important to me because bullying is commonly seen in schools around the globe. Bullying plays a big factor in mental health and overall health. This is important to me because I have seen the effects of bullying and what it does to a person and I am hurt to see my friends in pain. When my audience views this photo I want them to feel a sense of guilt and empathy for the victim. I want it to spark a memory of bullying they have witnessed. Take action and speak up.

This is my final bullying photo representing bullying in schools.
