Building a Reading Life by:summer o'quin

Let's find the perfect book!

  • We do not want to stumble on hard words over and over.
  • We will build strength in accuracy.
  • As our reading improves our books will get harder.
The more we read our vocabulary grows. The more our vocabulary grows, we will enjoy what we read.
Be aware of reading just to get it done. Keep your attention on what your reading.
Visualize what your are reading.
Set reading goals.
Through out this unit we will:
  • Learn to ask and answer questions - who, what, where, when, and why.
  • Identify the main topic and identify key terms.
  • Describe how images contribute to the text.
  • Identify the problem and list the causes.
  • Compare and contrasting.
  • Making an Inference.

You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book . -Dr. Seuss
