Headteacher Comment

Another outstanding week for Greenfields pupils and staff, even at such a distance. I know how hard you are all working to keep up with your friends and all of the great learning through Google Classroom and Tapestry. I have particularly enjoyed looking at the project work that has been completed in Year 3 as well as some super poetry learning across the school.

In school we have been preparing the school for the potential partial reopening after the half term holidays. You will already know that this will only be sanctioned by the Government if 5 conditions have been met – we will be given the ‘green light’ on Thursday, May 28th. We will then be in touch with those of you who this affects. Please look out for updates and letters on MCAS letting you know what has been decided.

Have a great half term

What is it Miss Kenny?

This week Year Two created some wonderful leaf art from natural materials gathered on their walk.

Miss Kenny kicked off the week by making a pterodactyl and asked the children to guess what it was….. unfortunately, it was not as accurate as she thought although Grace did guess a dinosaur.

Children from Year Two produced some truly beautiful pieces of art and Miss Kenny really enjoyed guessing the creature. Can you guess what they are? Look out for Miss Kenny’s pterodactyl! :/

Making Little Houses in Year 2

Hot off the press! Today, Year Two have finished off their topic on 'The Elves and the Shoemaker' by making their own houses for the elves to live in. I am super impressed with their creativity!

Aliens and Underpants?

This week Reception have been learning the story "Aliens Love Underpants" at home. They have designed their own aliens and written about them. We have all been learning the story and completing lots of exciting activities. Look at some of the fabulous aliens and writing the children have produced!

Busy Bees and Dragonflies

Mmmm Fruit Salad!

One of this week’s fine motor tasks for Reception children was to carefully peel and chop some fruit to make a fruit salad. Liam did an amazing job. Well done Liam!

Year 6 Get Creative

This week, Year Six have been busy creating artistic representations of the setting of their current novel, 'Wonder'. They had to use information from the text in their artwork to create Auggie's neighbourhood and the submissions have been very impressive. Well done!

Northamptonshire Education Awards 2020

You may remember that last year Greenfields Primary School and Nursery won Primary School of the Year at the Northamptonshire Education Awards 2019. We were so proud of this fabulous recognition of our school. The Northamptonshire Education Awards 2020 will be hosted on 17th July at Wicksteed Park and parents are now able to nominate their child's school. Lots of our staff and parents are not only working from home, but are also teaching their own children. I am sure you can appreciate how difficult this can be! With that in mind we would love for you to nominate Greenfields Primary School and Nursery for our OUTSTANDING education.

We are on Facebook and Twitter!
