What is CTE?

Career and technical education—or CTE—are programs designed to provide students with a combination of academic and technical skills, and hands-on training, to prepare them for future careers.

Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs in Washington are aligned with rigorous industry and academic standards. Teachers participate in meaningful professional development on curricula and instruction, standards and assessment, and academic integration.

Each year, thousands of CTE students graduate from high school with career goals, job skills and leadership skills knowing exactly where they will go next to further their academic and hands-on education and training. Find your passion and become one of those students!

In the Pasco School District, we are pleased to offer over 117 different Career and College Readiness courses at Pasco High School, Chiawana High School, New Horizons High School, Tri-Tech Skills Center, and Delta High School. CTE is comprised of four major occupational areas. These are Agriculture Science, Business and Marketing Education, Family and Consumer Sciences Education, and Technology Education. The images below will give you information on each course offered within each of these areas. (Click each image to enlarge)
